Gas Industry Experience

All applicants intending to register with CORGI must have sufficient ‘on the job’ gas work experience appropriate to the areas of work they intend to register for. Evidence of this on the job experience must be produced at the time of the Pre Registration Assessment (PRA) and must satisfy the guidance to the duration and type of experience detailed below:

Domestic Natural Gas/LPG - duration of experience

Core Gas safety  Work Activity Duration of experience
 CCN1 / CCLP1  Pipework  2-4 weeks ( 10-20 days)
 CCN1 / CCLP1  Cookers  2-4 weeks ( 10-20 days)
 CCN1 / CCLP1  Water Heaters  2- 4 weeks ( 10-20 days)
 CCN1 / CCLP1  Central Heating *  8-10 weeks (40-50 days)
 CCN1 / CCLP1  Space Heaters  4- 6 weeks (20-30 days)
 CMA1 CESP1  Meters up to U6  2-4 weeks ( 10-20 days)
 CCN1 / CCLP1  Warm Air *  8-10 weeks (40-50 days)

Commercial/Catering Natural Gas - duration of experience

Where you intend to register for a combination of appliances the durations should be added together as required, e.g. applicant intends to work on pipework, cookers, space heaters and central heating. For most applicants the amount of gas work experience would normally be (in weeks) 4+4+6+10 = 24 weeks (120 days).
