I Am An Experienced Builder

As a builder you will probably possess a number of transferable skills and experience needed to help carry out safe gas installation work. You have a choice of two routes to attain a gas qualification that is recognised by CORGI:

  • Attain a City & Guilds Space Heater Pathway Route National/ Scottish Vocational Qualification (N/SVQ) 6012 – this can be achieved within 20 weeks. For further details on pathway route N/SVQ’s contact your local college, City & Guilds or Energy & Utility Skills.
  • To Undertake a Managed Learning Program which will provide an auditable extended period of gas training programme together with the necessary organisational support. Once a portfolio of this training has been completed and verified by an approved assessment centre you will be able to undertake ACS assessment.

In either case you will need to be employed by, or be placed with a CORGI registered business to enable you to gain the necessary ‘on site’ work experience that you will need to complete the award and be eligible for CORGI membership.
