Home Building and Renovating Show - 01/04/2007 10:00

CORGI hosted a stand at the National Homebuilding and Renovating Show at the Birmingham NEC from 22-25 March to speak with consumers about the importance of using a CORGI registered installer and to create awareness of gas safety issues.

The National Homebuilding and Renovating Show started in 1992 and is designed for people who are self-building or renovating their home. At the show last month, CORGI focussed on providing visitors to the stand with detailed information on carbon monoxide poisoning and how to keep themselves safe and CORGI also held daily seminars for around 200-300 people per day. An hourly competition saw CORGI give away around 300 carbon monoxide detectors to members of the public.

Shows such as this, are a perfect opportunity for CORGI to meet face-to-face with consumers, especially with audiences that are more likely to be hiring gas workers to fit central heating or a new boiler – or who may even be tempted to give it a go themselves. CORGI was able to give helpful advice to the show’s visitors and recommend that they should leave gas work to the professionals.
