Report illegal gas work to CORGI. You’ve told us that you frequently see work where it’s clear an illegal worker has carried out that work -we’re asking all of you to report it by:
- Calling the free dobbing line on 0800 915 0491 - you can remain anonymous if you so wish.
- Completing our online form.
We need as much information as possible, such as the name and addresses of the person working on gas without CORGI registration, and details of any of their customers. A member of the CORGI team will inspect the work and we will deal with all reports confidentially.
Show your CORGI ID card. 55% of CORGI members are never asked for their card and over half of you only show your CORGI ID card occasionally or not at all. Don’t wait to be asked, show your card on every visit. Your card shows you’re competent, qualified, experienced and legal and definitely not a cowboy.
Don’t sign off work by non-CORGI people. Our research shows that 6 out of 10 illegal gas workers are handing over to a CORGI Registered installer to complete the gas work and commission the work. If you sign off the work for someone else you are wholly responsible for every bit of work they have carried out. If they’re not CORGI registered don’t take the risk.
