Paul Balmer was a member of the CORGI Council for the past five years. He worked at this company’s Stoke Orchard site for 28 years, firstly as a research scientist for the National Coal Board’s Research Establishment and then as a Process Engineer, Procurement Officer and Commercial Contracts Officer for its successor, the British Coal Corporation. In 1999 Paul joined GASTEC at CRE, which is one of the principal organisations in the UK responsible for assessing the safety of all types of domestic and commercial gas appliances.
