Specification for the Gas Safety Check
A visual inspection of the installation will be undertaken. In addition a practical inspection of the appliances will be undertaken. The visual and practical inspection will include the following:
- Visual inspection of the gas installation and gas appliances
- Inspect the flue system and flue terminal location
- Ensure the minimum clearances are achieved and there is adequate access for servicing and maintenance
- Carry out a gas tightness/soundness test on the gas installation
- Check the burner pressure and gas rate (where applicable) to ensure compliance with manufacturers instructions
- Check ventilation for compliance with manufacturer's instructions and Codes of Practice
- Carry out a flue gas analysis and record the result
- Check the emergency control valve is suitably located, operable and labelled
- Check the operation of any safety controls
- Offer a professional opinion on the installation standard
- Where defects are identified, recommendations for remedial action will be given
