Breitling

Brietling has played a crucial role in the advancement of technical watches, and are a leader in the development of modern day wrist wear. A family run business since 1884; the Breitling family are the world’s only major watch company to equip all its models with chronometer-certified movements. Developed and manufactured in his own workshops in Switzerland, Leon Brietling devoted himself to the exclusive and demanding field of precision counters. In 1914, Breitlings son took over the company and introduced the first chronograph wrist-watch to pilots in WW1 for precision timing and soon became the official supplier to the Royal Air Force. Many years later in 1962, Breitling had the honour of one of their Chronographs to be carried by astronaut Scott Carpenter during his orbital flight aboard the NASA Aurora 7 space capsule.
